Solid Waste Management Partnerships Workshops

Wed, Jun 24, 2015 - Wed, Jun 24, 2015

8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Federation Hall, University of Waterloo

What happens when you bring industry, government and academia together for a collaborative conversation about the future of waste management? Progress. That’s the goal of the Solid Waste Management Partnerships Workshop (SWMPW), an executive forum designed to encourage the exchange of ideas that will help create a roadmap to guide the future of waste management and resource recovery research in Canada.

In a most unique arrangement, the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) has once again teamed up with the University of Waterloo (UW) to host the second annual, invitation-only SWMPW on Wednesday, June 24, 2015.

The day will focus on how academia, government and industry can share ideas and insight around collaboration that will lead to improved waste policy and planning. Further information about the workshop is available at

If you are interested in attending this invitation-only session, please contact Krista Friesen, VP, Sustainability, CPIA at kfriesen [at} or 905-678-7748 x234.

The 2015 workshop is supported by the following partners: Canadian Plastics Industry Association, University of Waterloo, Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy, Ontario Environment Industry Association, Columbia University, PresterJohn, Walker Environmental, Canadian Resource Recovery Council, Western University, Region of Waterloo and City of Toronto.
