Tom Rose has spent his entire career working in the Plastics Industry. In 1978, Tom along with some family members purchased Layfield Plastics of Edmonton, Alberta. Tom used Layfield, then a small Edmonton based fabricator of rigid plastic products, as a platform from which to build a larger plastics processing company. He quickly expanded the business from only rigid plastics to other markets such as Environmental Containment, Industrial Fabrics and Blown Film production by expanding the business through regional expansion and acquiring several synergistic companies in Alberta, Ontario and California.
Layfield provides tailored solutions using plastics to protect our families, our communities and our environment; whether making a product for flood control, or engineering a floating cover to protect our drinking water, or manufacturing the packaging for a medical product or protecting our food supply. Layfield has been built on Tom’s commitment to high ethical standards and quality products. This solid platform has been the foundation to promote the benefits of an extensive line plastic products by applying unique technologies in the various industries Layfield has the benefit of serving.
After 40+ years of working in the plastics industry, Tom has built a company with over 14 locations and employing more than 350 talented people. While Tom is being honored with a lifetime achievement award, his passion and commitment to the Plastics Industry continues. His achievements will carry-on as he continues to work with a highly talented Layfield team of employees and members of his family, here in Canada as well as other parts of the world.
