	Technology Transfer Trade Mission The Canadian Plastics Industry Association's (CPIA) / EDC Technology Transfer Trade Mission Nov. 2010 was designed to foster transfer of ideas and technologies between Germany and Canada to help improve plastics landfill diversion in Canada. Germany has reduced landfilling of plastics waste to nearly zero. The fact that over 95% of waste plastics are recovered through a combination of recycling and energy recovery is a model worth investigating. The tour was designed to provide participants with an overview of the drivers for plastics recycling and energy recovery in Germany, the technological developments for plastics recycling and recovery of energy from plastics, as well as to provide first-hand exposure to advanced technologies in use in commercial settings.
